Ideas and solutions that surprise the medical field.
Founded in 2013, Ventinova Medical is a medical technology company with extensive clinical expertise, dedicated to developing and marketing innovative solutions for patient ventilation and airway management.
In 2023, Ventinova Medical was acquired by IES Medical, a company specialising in the supply of innovative medical equipment. Based at the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park in Spain, IES Medical has maintained an office in Weert, the Netherlands, preserving Ventinova Medical’s international presence and commitment to innovation.
Our mission is to transform the future of mechanical ventilation worldwide through iFCVaec® — Individualized Flow-Controlled Ventilation, an innovative approach to ventilation focused on adapting respiratory support to the individual patient's needs.
We believe in creating a new ventilation paradigm through revolutionary technologies that go beyond incremental improvements to conventional clinical practice. By combining medical expertise with state-of-the-art technology, we develop innovative solutions designed to advance respiratory care and improve patient outcomes.
The philosophy behind our technology is active expiration, or expiration by suction, enabling precise control of airflow throughout the respiratory cycle.
Our iFCVaec® technology is implemented using the Evone® mechanical ventilator in combination with the Tritube® small-lumen endotracheal tube. This innovative approach provides controlled airflow during both inspiration and expiration, helping to minimise abrupt changes in airflow and airway pressure associated with conventional ventilation techniques.
iFCVaec® represents our vision for the future of personalised ventilation: advancing respiratory care through an individualised approach that considers each patient's physiological needs and clinical circumstances.
Together, IES Medical and Ventinova Medical are committed to advancing the adoption of iFCVaec® worldwide, bringing innovative ventilation solutions to healthcare professionals and supporting the evolution of respiratory care.
Our vision is clear: to improve ventilation worldwide through iFCVaec® — Individualized Flow-Controlled Ventilation.
Inventions and Innovations.
The credit for inventing the concept behind our mechanical ventilator, Evone, and manual ventilator, Ventrain, goes to Prof. Dr. D. Enk, MD.
Specializing in airway management for more than twenty years, Prof. Enk fully committed himself to the research on a flow-controlled ventilator, allowing safe and efficient ventilation of patients through a ‘straw’, even in the case of airway obstruction.
His initial idea has been further developed in close collaboration between Ventinova Medical and Prof. Enk’s clinical research group.

Prof. Dr. med. Dietmar Enk
Prof. Dr. med. Dietmar Enk is affiliated with the University of Münster (Germany), where he also completed his training in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital Münster (UKM).
He was board-certified in 1996 and became a consultant anesthesiologist in 1999.
From 2006 to 2017 D. Enk worked in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC) in Maastricht (The Netherlands) with a clinical focus on pediatric anesthesia.
Over the last 25 years his scientific work has had a strong focus on regional anesthesia and airway management. His ambition to optimize current techniques and to improve every-day procedures has led to the development and optimization of several novel products in close cooperation with different companies.
D. Enk has more than a dozen granted patents together with a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers. His work has also been acknowledged with several scientific and academic awards.
Currently, he works as an independent medical consultant for those companies which bring his ideas and inventions to clinical practice.

Tom Barnes
Tom Barnes is a physicist by training. He was awarded a Personal Chair in Physics by the University of Auckland in 2000 and subsequently became Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) there in 2001. In 2008 he became Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Greenwich. In 2015 he returned to physics and developed additional interests in physiology, ventilation, and anaesthesia – working with university and industry colleagues internationally as a researcher and consultant. Tom works in fluid dynamics, ventilation, lung mechanics and related physiology, sensing and measurement systems, and optics. Tom is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand.

Close collaboration.
Ventinova Medical develops and markets innovative medical devices. The products that are currently on the market are: mechanical ventilator, Evone; manual ventilator, Ventrain; the ultrathin tube, Tritube; and 2 mm transtracheal catheter, Cricath.
We believe that diversity is the strength of our team. It consists of experts in research, development and marketing, production and regulatory affairs.
The development of Ventrain is enabled with contribution from The European Regional Development Fund in the framework of OP-Zuid and the Dutch government.
For the development of Evone, Ventinova Medical has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme and Innovation Credit from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
